President George Washington's Thanksgiving Proclamation

  Hat tip Heritage Foundation

Thanksgiving Proclamation

Issued by President George Washington, at the request of Congress, on October 3, 1789

By the President of the United States of America, a Proclamation.

Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and—Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me “to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:”

Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favor, able interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquillity, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted; for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations, and beseech Him to pardon our national and other trangressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shown kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally, to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best.

Given under my hand at the City of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789.

Celebrating the Season

Sarah Palin: Let's give thanks

Latest email from SarahPac:
Friends,
Thanksgiving offers us invaluable time to spend with our family and reflect on our many blessings. In 1789, George Washington declared a day of national Thanksgiving for our new country to render unto God our "sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection."
But even before that first proclamation from a new nation, pioneers across America celebrated Thanksgiving as a time to give praise to God for full harvests and Divine Providence.
And indeed, America has been richly blessed. From coast to coast, we enjoy an abundance of natural resources, plentiful harvests, beautiful cities and our most precious gift of all—a people who value liberty and continue to stand as an example to the world of all that can be accomplished by a free and hard-working people.

This Thanksgiving, join me in a moment of prayer to give thanks for the thousands of American men and women in our armed forces who will spend Thanksgiving away from their homes and families, facing danger overseas to protect our way of life.
When we sit down to enjoy a family meal on Thursday, I will give thanks to God for the blessing of a strong and diverse family life that has taught me so much about loyalty, selflessness, and compassion. I will pray for God's continued blessings on my family, and on yours, and on this great nation of ours.
From my family to yours, God bless you and Happy Thanksgiving!
With an Alaskan heart,

Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin: They’re still pulling the wool over some eyes

From Sarah Palin's Facebook page:
They’re still pulling the wool over some eyes, friends. So let’s call them out yet again. I was recently interviewed on Fox News Sunday. One question I answered was prefaced with the supposed “fact” that “30 million MORE people will be covered by Obamacare.” That statistic is about as credible a promise as “if you like your health care plan you can keep your health care plan.”

Obamacare is presently hitting people who buy insurance on the individual market because they may not receive health coverage through their employers. It’s hurting millions! But you ain’t seen nuthin' yet. Just wait until the Obamacare employer mandate kicks in next year. As I told Fox News Sunday, despite what the White House and media report, tens of millions more Americans are set to lose their employer provided insurance plans. The ramifications of this WILL fundamentally transform America.

The article linked today at the top of Drudge confirms my point, which is significant because my point was mocked until this article confirmed it. Headline: “Almost 80 million with employer health care plans could have coverage canceled, experts predict.”

Companies that provide health insurance plans that aren’t compliant with new burdensome Obamacare mandates will obviously decide it’s cheaper to dump employees into the government-run Obamacare exchanges and pay the penalty than try to provide an expensive Obamacare-approved plan.

No one in America will be left unscathed by Obamacare. Please trust me on this. The media can repeat all the bogus White House stats they want about false claims like the individual mandate “only affects 5% of the public,” but they can’t change reality – NUMBERS DON'T LIE – and America is about to get “mugged by reality” very soon, to paraphrase Irving Kristol.

Far from providing more Americans with insurance, Obamacare is ironically hurting the very people it was sold to as some kind of health care savior. More people will choose to pay the IRS penalty and go without insurance because they can’t afford the increased rates slamming them, plus they now have fewer options in this one-size-fits-all expensive bureaucratic exchange which forces people to buy coverage for things they don’t want nor need. We’re talking about one-sixth more of our economy controlled now by big government, remember.

Do not forget that Obamacare contains health care rationing. When I warned America about “death panels,” I was denounced as a liar. But now the reality of “death panels” is openly admitted, even touted by some liberals as their solution. Just yesterday yet another prominent liberal media lapdog joined the chorus in finally admitting that death panel-style rationing is “built into the plan. It's not like a guess or like a judgment. That's going to be part of how costs are controlled." This guy and his ilk need to apologize to all of you, NOW, who knew what I was talking about, repeated my warnings, and were mocked and criticized for it. (Don't hold your breath.)

The truth is the “enlightened ones” knew all along that rationing was in the plan. They were angry with me for saying it out loud. The twin pillars of Obamacare have always been redistribution and rationing. Take away one of those pillars and the whole thing crumbles. That’s why Obamacare is doomed. You were smart enough to know that, while they were arrogant enough to keep up a deceitful ruse until their White House control was guaranteed. They’re busted now, though. And that’s why they’re scrambling to distract you and hope you won’t realize how enormously important upcoming elections are to save our economy.

The redistribution aspect will be Obamacare’s undoing. Not enough young or healthy people will apply for Obamacare because it’s simply unaffordable. It makes NO economic sense for them to voluntarily sign up. They’ll choose to pay the IRS fine instead. This will bankrupt the whole Ponzi scheme, which is premised on young and healthy people paying for those who are sick or have pre-existing conditions. And when Obamacare fails, the left will push to have us move to full socialized medicine under a so-called “single payer plan.” This is exactly what Barack Obama touted as a candidate, as did many of his bureaucratic appointees, but the media glossed over that all these years.

Friends, the only way to fix Obamacare is to scrap this stuffed turkey and start over with genuine free market, patient-centered reforms that allow people to purchase insurance across state lines, enact tort reform, and give individual insurance buyers the same breaks we give employer provided insurance. And we need to elect leaders who will fight for us to get it done.

Keep all of this in mind this week as we break for Thanksgiving. Be warned the White House is arming leftist supporters with “talking points” to try to convince family and friends around the Thanksgiving table that Obamacare is the greatest thing since sliced pumpkin bread. You should politely let them know you’re not swallowing that turkey.

Thank you for doing your own homework, for trusting the truth I've expressed, and for refusing to let the “enlightened ones” keep America in the dark.

Sarah Palin: Thank you, Minneapolis!

From Sarah Palin's Facebook page:
Thank you, Minneapolis! What a fun, festive crowd tonight at the Mall of America; I want your energy! It was especially reenergizing to reconnect with folks we met four years ago during the “Going Rogue” book tour. Tonight I even got to autograph great recipes attributed to me (see photos)! Thank you so much for joining us. Huge kudos to the hardworking mall staff for making this a perfect wrap to the first leg of our “Good Tidings and Great Joy” tour!

I'll stay Outside for a Fox News Sunday interview with Chris Wallace, then we chill a bit to enjoy Thanksgiving with family (at my house... so thank you, new friends, for offering me new recipes this week!), before hitting the road again. We’ll post 2nd leg tour locations soon. Again, thank you all for sharing your Christmas cheer these past weeks and allowing us to share ours with you. YOU are real hope; you’re real inspiration; you’re real America deserving honor for protecting the heart of Christmas! God bless you!

Sarah Palin: President John F. Kennedy was remembered and honored today

From Sarah Palin's Facebook page:
President John F. Kennedy was remembered and honored today in Dallas. A memorial plaque was unveiled at Dealey Plaza, inscribed with a beautiful quote that I discuss in my book “Good Tidings and Great Joy.” I also used the quote in my Southeastern University speech and would like to share the excerpt from “Good Tidings and Great Joy” (pgs. 130-132):

….During my speech, I recited one of my favorite quotes to the students, faculty, and Southeastern supporters: “We in this country, in this generation, are—by destiny rather than choice—the watchmen on the walls of world freedom. We ask, therefore, that we may be worthy of our power and responsibility, that we may exercise our strength with wisdom and restraint, and that we may achieve in our time and for all time the ancient vision of ‘peace on earth, goodwill toward men.’ That must always be our goal, and the righteousness of our cause must always underlie our strength. For as was written long ago: ‘except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.’”

The source of this quote? Which right-wing pundit called America the “watchman on the walls” for the world? What radical televangelist just had to add a Bible verse in there for good measure?

The answer might surprise you. The above quote would be ridiculously polarizing in today’s über-partisan culture— if a Republican leader uttered it, I could easily imagine the “talking heads” on television immediately dissecting it:

“What does it mean our country is a nation ‘of destiny’?”

“How patronizing to call ourselves the ‘watchmen’ of the world.”

“Since when did America begin to have the market on ‘righteousness’?”

“So now the whole country has to be kept by ‘the Lord’? Whose Lord?”

What my audience may not have known is that the above words are excerpted from a speech John F. Kennedy was scheduled to deliver on November 22, 1963. Tragically, he never got to the podium that day, because he was assassinated in Dallas en route in his motorcade. Years later, his prepared remarks were released to the public, and we were finally able to see the significant message he intended to deliver that fateful day.

I especially love JFK’s quote from Psalm 127: “Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.”

Kennedy was going to invoke God’s protection on our country so that we might live up to our responsibility in the world….

Today, as we remember JFK, may we renew our commitment to live up to our responsibility as the abiding beacon of liberty in a troubled world. May we keep faith with all of those who, like President Kennedy, gave their lives in service to our country. And may the Lord always bless and protect America.

(P.S. The great author C.S. Lewis also died on that same day 50 years ago. I’ll write more about my admiration for him, which I also noted in “Good Tidings and Great Joy,” tomorrow from here in Minnesota.)

Sarah Palin to close Liberty University's Fall 2013 Convocation series

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will be the featured speaker at Liberty University’s final Convocation of the Fall 2013 semester on Wednesday, Dec. 4.

Palin will be introduced by President Jerry Falwell, Jr., who issued the following statement about her visit:
“While Governor Palin has visited Liberty's campus in the past, she has never appeared at a Liberty event. I am thrilled that Governor Palin and our student body will now have a chance to interact in a Q-and-A format. At Billy Graham's 95th birthday party earlier this month, the governor and I spoke of our mutual anticipation for her upcoming visit.”

Sarah Palin: Americans implore today's elected leaders to exercise virtuous truth and integrity

From Sarah Palin's Facebook page:
May this day honor the late President John F. Kennedy. In his honor, and to protect our republic, Americans implore today's elected leaders to exercise virtuous truth and integrity in office.

Shockingly to some, the White House and Senate Democrats, desperate for a winning political talking point before Congress’s Thanksgiving vacation, just did the opposite.

Liberals just changed 230 years of enduring Senate rules by enacting the “Nuclear Option” that will now let just 51 votes approve the President’s nominees, and thus prevent dissenting Senators from filibustering controversial appointees who’ll be charged with decision making that affects our lives.

This is significant as further proof that our government is so broken. When politicians can’t get anything to work, they change rules and hope we’ll just get distracted. The hugely divisive, dysfunctional “Nuclear Option” sets a terrible precedent. Mark Levin appropriately calls it “the latest act of leftist tyranny.” It’s also leftist hypocrisy. Back under Republican control of the Senate, Democrats blocked President Bush’s judicial appointees. You should have heard Harry Reid and then-Senators Barack Obama and Joe Biden freak out in railing against the “danger... arrogance... poison” of the Republican majority even considering enacting such a rule change. To ensure cooperation and unity in balancing power for We the People, Republicans wisely did not change the rules.

But that was then. Now this makes for a nice Thanksgiving distraction for the left, but Americans are awake today – we’re not easily distracted with turkeys like this.

Do these far leftists realize Americans will not be chatting cheerfully around our Thanksgiving tables about how Obama and Reid nuked Senate rules? No, if political speak befalls dinner, we’ll no doubt vent about losing health insurance, seeing premiums skyrocket, not being able to afford unworkable Obamacare plans, and still wanting socialized healthcare scrapped altogether. We'll discuss disappointment in the President and his Party for lying to us.

But don’t let this distraction ruin your Thanksgiving, America! Be thankful for at least one thing revealed in this latest radical act of the far left: more Americans are now stirred from slumber! Only a Butterball’s serotonin-induced sleepiness after dinner will lull us back in; Senate power grabbing distractions won’t do it.

Sarah Palin: New and old friends gathered in Kansas tonight

From Sarah Palin's Facebook page:
New and old friends gathered in Kansas tonight – including Robert and Shirley Hemenway (see them in photo) whose son Ron worked for the Chief of Naval Operations at the Pentagon when he was killed on September 11, 2001. Ron graduated from Wasilla High School with Todd and me, and he was a wonderful young man from a proud and selfless Alaskan family. Ron will never be forgotten. It’s remembering 9/11 that makes us appreciate sacrifices made for our freedoms, and should stiffen our spines to defend them.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, including the thoughtful Barnes & Noble staff. It’s inspiring to note in these book events, especially notable tonight in Kansas, the multiple generations of families traveling together to express their concern for America and encouragement to fight for what’s right – as so many people brought their kids and grandkids. Family patriarchs and matriarchs talked about the importance of influencing younger generations so they’d respect, honor, and protect our exceptional nation. It’s in that same spirit we seek to protect the heart of Christmas. Leaning into the strength you provide, good Americans, we will keep the faith!

Sarah Palin: Thank you to all the folks in Arkansas

From Sarah Palin's Facebook page:
Thank you to all the folks in Arkansas who joined us this morning and to the staff at Sam’s Club. You guys inspire me! Looking at some articles this morning I’m reminded of exactly why I wrote this book. Schools bullied into not playing religious themed Christmas songs – even if the music is instrumental? Schools threatened by Angry Atheists Armed with Lawyers because students participated in Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse’s "Operation Christmas Child," a beautiful program that distributes gifts for children in need. (My family has been honored to work in this worthy cause with the Grahams, including their mission’s work in Haiti).

The Scrooges are emboldened whenever we cower and back down in fear of a protracted legal fight. But I also see evidence that good people are standing up and saying, “enough is enough.” I'm confident there are more of us who stand tall than just fall for complacency and political correctness run amok at Christmas time. Come share your heart and let's work together to honor the Reason for the Season.

Sarah Palin In Oklahoma

From Sarah Palin's Facebook page:
O! K! Last night in Oklahoma, Kathy Young (see photo) shared her "The Best Peanut Butter Carb Bar EVER" recipe with me – sounded so good we almost ate the Christmas card it was written on! Thanks, Kathy, and congratulations on celebrating your Golden Wedding anniversary during the Christmas holiday at the same church in Edmond where you were married. As promised, I’ll make the Carb Bars when I get home. Friends, enjoy the tradition of sharing recipes as I did in “Good Tidings and Great Joy.” Or begin the tradition at our book events!

Thank you, Oklahoma, for supporting the "Good Tidings and Great Joy" message last night. So many inspiring people are committed to protect the heart of Christmas – and your efforts mean a world of difference in today's culture. Lots of conscientious parents and grandparents brought youngsters on a school night to share early Christmas cheer, testifying powerfully to sincere support. It was a joy to see so many happy faces sharing your Okie hospitality. Kudos to the thoughtful staff at Mardel; thanks for putting up with our healthy "energetic" chaos that inevitably accompanies big events! Now on to Arkansas and Kansas for ramped up empowering of good Americans so we can stand united for joyous tradition, faith, family and freedom.

A big Texas thanks to Rafael Cruz, Senator Ted Cruz’s father, for hosting us last night with other SarahPAC supporters. It’s inspiring to hear Rafael’s full-throated defense of American exceptionalism. As an American of Cuban descent, Rafael has witnessed first hand what it means to live without freedom, and that has made him an eloquent and motivated American patriot. God bless him and all the SarahPAC supporters we met yesterday. Together we're working to restore our exceptional nation!

Sarah Palin: Today is the 150th anniversary of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address

From Sarah Palin's Facebook page:
Today is the 150th anniversary of Lincoln’s delivery of the Gettysburg Address. Lincoln’s words helped heal our wounded nation. Lincoln predicted, “that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom,” and he was right. The trajectory of the war and the nation itself course-corrected back to the republic our founding documents envisioned – a nation “conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.”

We are still that nation! Thank you sincerely to the beautiful people we’ve met on this book tour so far. They embody all the best of this great republic “of the people, by the people, for the people.”

We’d especially like to thank the gracious people of Plano, Texas, who came out today and were so understanding about today’s abbreviated event. Also, thank you to the helpful and kind employees at Costco.

Photo: Today is the 150th anniversary of Lincoln’s delivery of the Gettysburg Address.

Sarah Palin: Met some awesome Floridians at The Villages

From Sarah Palin's Facebook page:
Met some awesome Floridians and inspiring members of our Greatest Generation yesterday at The Villages. We’ve been to The Villages a number of times now – including during the 2008 campaign and with the “Going Rogue” book tour – and it’s always great to reconnect with the good folks there. One of my most favorite individuals in the area is my former basketball coach, Coach Yates. Everything I ever needed to know I learned on the basketball court, and Coach Yates has been instrumental. Thank you so much to everyone who came out and to the staff at Barnes & Noble!

Sarah Palin: Mega dittos from the EIB network

 From Sarah Palin's Facebook page:
Mega dittos from the EIB network headquarters in Florida! Got to meet one of my heroes today, Rush Limbaugh. As I’ve said many times, I was a ditto-head before ditto-head was cool! I was delighted to get a copy of Rush’s new book “Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims.” Great book for readers of ALL ages. Thank you, Rush, for all you do to educate Americans everyday on the things that make this nation so exceptional.

Sarah Palin: Great enthusiasm and insistence to protect the heart of America in Naples

From Sarah Palin's Facebook page:

Great enthusiasm and insistence on a united team effort to protect the heart of America was in Naples! By the way, on this day in history in 1968, NBC cut away from the final minutes of the big New York Jets vs. Oakland Raiders game to begin the TV special, "Heidi," so the movie would start on schedule. Meanwhile, the Raiders came from behind to beat the Jets 43-32! Now, as I mention in “Good Tidings and Great Joy” we didn't have live TV in Alaska back then because of our young state’s unique location and rugged conditions, so that traumatic media distraction didn’t affect our day (we wouldn’t know of it until proceeding radio reports). But lesson learned.

We can apply this story to today’s political and economic climate with all the distractions and interruptions to what’s really going on behind the scenes as our freedoms are diminished day by day with the march towards socialized medicine, our government spying on us, the IRS targeting patriotic Americans, and the bloated federal bureaucracy and our exploding national debt hurtling out of control. But unanticipated outcomes do occur. The underdog does win!

Well that’s America today! We the People aren’t giving up; we “come from behind” and we win over this out of control government and political correctness run amok... all while attempts to distract ensue. Also, ironically on this day in history in 1800 Congress met for first time in the partially completed Capitol building. Look how far we’ve strayed since then from the Constitutional balance of power with Obama's actions today.

So, on this fine football day, consider this day in history. Don’t let your guard down, America; don’t let their distractions take your eye off ball. As big government fumbles and penalizes us with broken policies and false promises, we must focus on the goal line and push for a come from behind victory! With a united team effort in 2014, we’ll win! It starts with great patriots like those we met yesterday in Naples, Florida, at the book signing and SarahPAC event.

Sarah Palin On The Lead With Jake Tapper 11/12/13

Sarah Palin's Book Tour Coming To Wausau, Wisconsin

From Sarah Palin's Facebook page:

Once we read Todd Starnes' coverage of one school district's move to add a mathematical equation to a school choirs choice of songs, I knew we had to visit the community of Wausau, WI, to encourage the good citizens there to keep up the good fight! We'll be there this Thursday promoting "Good Tidings and Great Joy" in which we discuss steps citizens can take, just like the ones those in Wausau are doing, to protect our constitutional right guaranteeing freedom of faith. Hope to see you there. For more on the issue in Wausau, see this article:

Sarah Palin doubts Establishment Politicians On Hannity 11/11/13

Sarah Palin brings Mark Levin "Good Tidings & Great Joy" • 11/11/13

Louisiana 5 Election Is November 16

The Louisiana congressional district 5 election will be held on November 16.  Since this is an open general election, the two top candidates from the primary will be on the ballot.  The candidates are republicans Vance McAlister and Neil Riser.  Please go to the polls and vote for the best conservative for this seat.  It cannot be stressed enough that we need to elect as many conservatives to Congress as possible.  The GOP Establishment has declared war on conservatives.  We need to send more representatives who will pressure John Boehner not to cave to their agenda.  See the links below for more information.

Sarah Palin: We're kind of “going rogue” once again

From Sarah Palin's Facebook page:
We're kind of “going rogue” once again back where much of an amazing adventure began. We know that a fun and worthwhile tour would not be complete without a stop in the great state of Michigan -- despite what the "experts" in political circles might say! I look forward to being back in Grand Rapids this Wednesday and hope to see you there so I can wish you an early Merry Christmas!

Sarah Palin: If you love freedom, thank a vet everyday

From Sarah Palin's Facebook page:
If you love freedom, thank a vet everyday -- but especially on Monday, Veteran's Day. Take time to let vets know how much you appreciate their service. If you see a good patriot who has served or is currently serving, be bold and introduce yourself and thank them for the freedoms you cherish. Over the next few weeks we'll be out on the road all across America discussing my new book "Good Tidings And Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas" because in this book our vets are acknowledged throughout for their bravery, service and sacrifices paid to defend our freedoms that some take for granted. We're excited to visit with vets, active duty military, and their amazing families this Friday at Fort Campbell and Fort Benning. Thank you, veterans, for protecting the heart of America and for inspiring us everyday!

Sarah Palin: Todd and I had a great time visiting with friends in Des Moines

From Sarah Palin's Facebook page:

Todd and I had a great time visiting with friends -- furry and otherwise -- in Des Moines tonight supporting the Puppy Jake Foundation. Thanks to our hosts Becky Beach and the entire Puppy Jake team for allowing us to highlight the positive work they're doing with these service dogs to support our brave soldiers returning home. It was great to visit with Sen. Mike Lee there tonight, too!

Now, hopefully Todd's been won over and will agree it's time to add another set of paws to the family! Please "like" the Puppy Jake Foundation on Facebook and visit their website to find out how you can help our vets. (And put in a good word to Todd for me... he's the one who's always said, "The more, the merrier!")

Sarah Palin Kicking Off "Good Tidings and Great Joy" Book Tour In Christmas City

From Sarah Palin's Facebook page:
We are looking forward to kicking off our “Good Tidings and Great Joy” book tour in “Christmas City, USA” – Bethlehem, PA – this coming Tuesday, November 12. This beautiful town was founded by Christian missionaries on Christmas Eve in 1741. Their famous Christmas Star, first lit during the Great Depression, still burns bright year round in this American town which embraces the spirit of Christmas not only on December 25, but all year. And let us not forget the importance of this region to our independence. It was not far from here on the banks of the Delaware River that General George Washington led his troops to an important victory crossing the river on December 26, 1776. We look forward to visiting this beautiful town and hope to see you there.

Sarah Palin: Looking Forward To Being Back In Iowa

From Sarah Palin's Facebook page:

I'm looking forward to being back in Iowa this weekend! Tonight we'll visit with supporters of Iowa's "Puppy Jake Foundation" and highlight the great work they do to support our returning service men and women in a creative way. This group trains dogs for eventual adoption by those who have fought so hard for our freedom and suffer from ailments, including PTSD, upon their return. Having spent some time with Puppy Jake himself (see photo from the 2011 Iowa State Fair with trainer Becky Beach and her dog), I can attest to the warmth, companionship, and smiles these dogs bring. The Foundation's mission explains that the hard efforts to train these beautiful service dogs pale in comparison to the cost paid by members of our U.S. Armed Services who've given enormously for our freedom. Please visit their website to find out more about our vets' needs and what great groups like the Puppy Jake Foundation are doing to help!

Sarah Palin: Book Tour Details Coming Tomorrow

From Sarah Palin's Facebook page:

Tomorrow we will announce the details of our upcoming "Good Tidings and Great Joy" book tour scheduled to start November 12th in the beautifully named Bethlehem, PA. This book is not about isolated trivialities. It's not really just about gingerbread cookies, or stockings hung by the chimney with care, or the big fat man with the long white beard. It's not about one holiday at all. It's about that little baby wrapped in swaddling clothes who arrived long before hope and change became political manipulations. It's about Christ and our ability to worship Him freely. It's about America, and what liberty truly means in our day-to-day lives. It's an empowering message that can change your life and help rebuild what is GOOD in this world! I am beyond excited to share this unique book with you and your loved ones. You can pre-order “Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas” here:

Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Good-Tidings-Great-Joy-Protecting/dp/0062292889/ref=tmm_hrd_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1381255547&sr=1-3

Barnes & Noble: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/good-tidings-and-great-joy-palin-sarah/1116988729?ean=9780062315656

I can't wait to hear from you as we apply this positive message to our everyday living and commit to ignoring the "political correctness" that would lead us to do otherwise!

Sincerely,

Sarah Palin
